SUPPORT VEHICLE DRIVERS • Due to drastic increase in team numbers resulting in increased vehicle numbers, Eastern Cape Parks Board has requested that a limit be placed on the number of vehicles travelling through the Baviaanskloof during the course of this event. • ONLY CORPORATE ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED TO HAVE SUPPORT VEHICLES THROUGH THE BAVIAANSKLOOF AND WILL BE LIMITED (Checkpoints 1-6). Proper 4X4's ONLY. • STANDARD ENTRIES support vehicles must travel through the Langkloof (via Uniondale & Joubertina) and can only provide support at checkpoints 5 & 6 in Patensie area. No 4X4 required. Logistical support will be provided by organisers for checkpoints 1-4. • Support Driver is a full member of the team and must be treated as such . Drivers will have a separate lucky-draw !! • NO ASSISTANCE WILL BE ALLOWED ALONG THE ROUTE. Assistance may only be provided at the indicated checkpoints (Depending on entry type). Transgression of this rule will lead to disqualification of the team. • Drivers must be experienced and have basic orienteering skills. • Drivers of back-up vehicles must leave (the start and checkpoints) before the cyclists and must arrive at the next checkpoint well ahead of their team. • Drivers must report arrivals and their departures at, and from checkpoints (Corporate Entrants only). • PLEASE MAKE WAY FOR OFFICIAL VEHICLES !!!. • Cyclists will have the right of way during the race!! • Back-up vehicles arriving at checkpoints will not be allowed to leave before their team arrive. • Ensure that you know the route and location of checkpoints.• No driving through the veld. Stick to the road and demarcated areas (at checkpoints). MARSHALS WILL HAVE DISCRETION IN THE APPLICATION OF THESE RULES
