Built on the ridge of a hill - covered with a large variety of lush Cape Fynbos - it’s a sanctuary for peace, tranquility and sheer beauty. From the wooden deck you can admire the majestic view of the Outeniqua mountain range and the beautiful landscape of the Garden- Route.
On the southern side of the property, the breathtaking panorama of the Swartvlei ( the largest of the Lake-district) and the Indian Ocean, highlights the uniqueness of this charming holiday - retreat.

The Interior of the Cottage is rustic and cosy, but elegant. With its flair of the old Cape Dutch charm, it combines both, comfort and style.

- 2km outside Wilderness take Hoekwil turn off
- cross railway line and follow sign to Hoekwil
- drive through Hoekwil and continue for 14,5km
- watch for sign post Ruigtevlei/Karatara
- turn right towards Ruigtevlei, pass "Timberclub sawmill",
- continue for 4,5km until blue sign (Wilderness Forest Estate)
- turn right into Lake Avenue and take second fork follwoing sign

- Directions from Knysna N2
- Take Karatara/Ruigtevlei turn off
- cross railway line and continue for 4,3km
- At sign post Karatara/Barrington turn left
- Continue for 2,7km until signpost George/Hoogekraal
- turn left, cross Hoogekraal river and continue for 4,5km
- at signpost "Wilderness Forest Estate' turn into Lake Avenue
- Take second fork following sign FYNBOS COTTAGE AT LAKEHOUSE
